On Tuesday night, USWNT( US women’s national team) defeated the New Zealand by 5-0 in front of a huge crowd at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. There were about 30,596 people in the stadium who watched this soccer match. It is reported that it was the largest crowd ever in Ohio to come for attending WNT match.

The first goal from USWNT was made by Lindsey Horan in the 36th minute. It was her fourth career goal. Mallory Pugh lead the team by adding another goal in the 44th minute. Alex Morgan scored twice during the second half. She made her first goal in less than a minute of the second half. Lynn Williams made it 4-0 in the 55th minute, before Morgan scored her second goal in the 69th minute. It was her 77th international goal.

Jill Ellis, the head coach of USWNT, said, “It was a good performance. I think it was a consistent 90 minutes. Although we didn’t get a lot of goals in the first half, I just thought we played very well and it was going to come. I talked about having an energized performance. I thought we had good numbers around the ball. I thought we had good range in our passing, you know”.

Ellis added,”We played underneath. We played wide. We played over the top, so just a lot of good pictures today. And, you know, this is kind of the new beginning for us now in terms of now it’s in this shape and as we move forward, I just think it was a really good start.”

The next soccer matches that USWNT play this year will be against South Korea and Canada in October and November month respectively. We wish a good luck to the team.
