Justin Thomas has won FedExCup and earned $10 million bonus, despite losing the Tour Championship by a stroke to a 23-yr old rookie Xander Schauffele. It was the second time since 2009 that the two players celebrated their victory at the East Lake Golf Club. Eight years ago, Phil Mickelson won the Tour Championship whereas Tiger Woods claimed the FedExCup title.

Thomas has won 5 tournaments this year, including the major title at PGA Championship. Thomas said, “It’s a really weird day, getting asked what it’s like to win the FedExCup because as a competitor you are mad that you didn’t win the tournament but then you realize what an unbelievable honour this is, the fact that you can win something over the entire course of the season”.

He added, “I played really well over the season and it is nice to finally play well in some playoff events and have it all pay off. There have been a lot of great weeks and great memories. I’ve had life-changing events that just kind of ended with another kind of life-changing thing for me”.

Xander Schauffele said of an agonizing 72nd-hole moment, “I actually thought I had missed a two-footer to win. I’m still in shock. This is just unreal”. Schauffele also expressed his happiness by saying, “Five months ago, two months ago, five hours ago, I would have thought none of this was possible. This is above and beyond”.

We also wish many congratulations to both the players and hope that they get more success in the upcoming years.
